The kit comes in three versions, depending on the turbo application:
- CNC adapter (56,3mm) towards the OE turbo.
- CNC adapter (62,8mm) towards the TTE 600, 625 V2 and 700 turbos.
- CNC adapter (65,7mm) towards the TTE 777 and 855 turbos.
Considerations
The efficiency of a turbocharged engine is under direct influence of the inlet air temperature (IAT) and the backpressure in the system. A crucial aspect, yet often overlooked, is having sufficient airflow before the compressor to avoid surge. Less vacuum and colder air enables the turbo to produce a larger mass which in the end means more air to the intake – summing up, this means noticeable power gains. There are great power wins to be earned with a good induction system! Throughout our years in this business, with countless hours of evaluation and development, we have seen the coherent connection in between IAT, sufficient airflow to the compressor, and the impact this has on the output.
do88 turbo inlet hose
We started the development by 3D-scanning the entire designated area on the car. This allowed us to work in a sensible manner, with the products in our CAD-environment using SolidWorks. The entire air filter system is optimized for airflow and radiuses and angles are reworked many times to achieve the best result! The finished product is verified with both Computer Flow Dynamics (CFD) as well with our Superflow SF1020 flowbench. All efforts are made to offer real and trustworthy data for you as a customer.
The kit comes with hose in black finish, CNC-machined adapter towards the turbo and top-quality, hose clamps.
The kit features a large 70mm (2 ¾") aluminum pipe on the hot side from the turbo to the intercooler. This pipe does not have the restrictive, flat design found between the engine and the inner wheelhouse on the OEM pipe. It is painted in a discrete, matte black powder coat for a sleek appearance and long-lasting protection.
On the cold side, our system removes two potential leak points. The cast aluminum charge pipe stretches all the way from the intercooler outlet, all the way to the throttle body. The pipe has a huge 86mm hose connection to the intercooler compared to the OE piece of 64mm. This connection matches the inner diameter of the do88 Performance Intercooler of 80 mm, for a smooth transition. The pipe also has two CNC-machined 1/8 NPT connections, perfect for methanol injection or outtake for a boost pressure sensor.
All hoses included are reinforced with 4 layers, guaranteeing they will cope with high boost pressures and temperatures. The hoses have a stepped inside at the pipe connections for a smooth transition between hose and pipe, which effectively reduce turbulence for the airflow. The kit is rounded off with strong, quality hose clamps for a secure and leak-free assembly.
We sell this kit in two versions depending on which intercooler you have on your car. One version has hoses adapted for the OE size intercooler connections (70mm). The other version comes with hoses adapted to match the do88 Performance Intercooler (ICM-420) with larger hose connections (80mm).
